Overview

The UT or UT Ladakh Kangri peak is a newly explored prominent snow-capped peak in the upper valley of Rumtse village.

There are many peaks around this range but the newly explored UT kangri is the best for those who are new to mountaineering and planning to do 6,000 meters peak at the beginning. The prominent UT Kangri peak is 6,070 meters high and a view from the top is stunning. You will get a beautiful view of different ranges of mountains and peaks like Markha valley and the eastern Karakoram ranges.

Base camo UT Kangri is situated at 5,320 m and there is other camp above base camp. The summit day will be the longest and tiring day in the entire expeditions of about 10-11 hrs trek. You will be roped up in a team as you would be climbing over a steep slope in a deep snow conditions.

Cancellation Policy:

  1. If cancellation is made one month or more prior to the trek, we will refund 100% of the paid amount
  2. If cancellation is made 15 to 30 days prior to the trek, we will refund 50% of the paid amount
  3. If the cancellation is made within 15 days prior to the trek, there will be no refund.

If the trek gets cancelled due to any any natural calamities like Uttarakhand floods, Nepal Earthquake, Covid-19 pandemic, we will refund the trek fees deducting actual expenses incurred depending on the stage of the trek.

Covid-19 Regulations:

  • You have to carry 2nd Vaccine certificate or RT-PCR negative report (not be older than 72 hours) while travelling to Himachal Pradesh.
  • For your return journey, if your destination requires RT-PCR negative report, plan your travel accordingly and keep minimum 1 day buffer to get tested.

Itinerary

Arrive at Leh. You will rest day at the hotel. Explore Leh market and acclimatize.

Explore Leh and the famous tourist places nearby.

You will go to Khardungla which is situated at an elevation of (5359 m ; 17500 feet) by road. This will help you to acclimatize well for the expedition.
Leh Hotel Stay

Drive from Leh to Rumtse Phu which is the road head camp at an elevation of 4,610 m. You will be driven along the Leh-Manali highway towards the Tanglang La. It’s a beautiful drive passing through small Ladakhi villages and you’ll have an opportunity to experience everyday life in Ladakh outside the main part of Leh. You have already gained an altitude of more than 1,000 m so staying near the road head will help you acclimatize better. A trek of hardly 1 km will to reach the road head camp.
Rumtse Phu Stay

You will start your trek to Base Camp which is at al altitude of 5,250 m. This will be the summit camp for the UT Kangri Summit.

You will undergo training at base camp and go for an acclimatization hike. You will have your dinner early as you will start your summit push the same night. Take proper rest and meals before summit push.

This is the day we have been waiting for. The summit day! You will be trekking to the summit of Mt. UT Kangri. Some sections of the climb may need us to rope up and climb. We will be trekking in deep snow so we will need to be patient amidst the raging winds and biting cold. Mt. UT Kangri is at an altitude of 6,056 m and the views are surreal with amazing views of Mt. Kang Yatse and other prominent peaks of Ladakh.

Buffer day for summit due to weather unpredictability.

You will descending down to the road head camp at Rumtse Phu. After the descend, you will start your journey back to Leh by road. After reaching Leh, you can take good rest in the cozy hotel room.

The last day of the expedition. You pack your bags and leave from Leh with the amazing memories to be cherished forever.

Trek Cost: To Be Announced

Cost Includes

  • 1.Accommodation in comfortable Hotel in Leh
  • 2. Accommodation in Alpine tents (2/3 men) during the expedition with sleeping bags, fleece inners and trekking mats. (Separate toilet tent facility is provided) at base camp.
  • 3. A variety of wholesome hygienic (veg) meals during the expedition.
  • 4. Services of cook, kitchen helpers with the entire necessary kitchen items, utensils etc.
  • 5. Technical equipment such as Climbing shoes, crampons, gaiters, Ice Axe, climbing ropes, seat harness set, ascenders, descenders, helmets, ice screws, rock pitons, carabiners, snow stakes and other technical equipment will be provided.
  • 6. The services of one qualified Alpine Instructor.
  • 7. The services of high altitude porters for assisting with load ferry and camp establishment.
  • 8. Vehicular transport from Leh to Rumtse Phu and back to the Leh and Khardungla (Day 3)
  • 9. Insurance of technical staff and camp staff (Members to obtain their own insurance).
  • 10. Bag offloading charges
  • 11. First aid kit with oxygen cylinders.

Cost Excludes

  • 1. Any accidental, emergency, travel or medical insurance for the climbing party. It is strongly recommended that the participants to get themselves comprehensively insured before the expedition.
  • 2. Expenses of a personal nature.
  • 3. All evacuation charges (medical emergency or otherwise), or hospitalization or physicians consultation charges. Your own insurance policy should also ideally, cover this.
  • 4. Beverages or drinks of any sort, including soft drinks, alcoholic / non-alcoholic drinks or bottled / mineral water.
  • 5. Charges for a manual or helicopter evacuation, in case of a medical emergency or the like.
  • 6. Other services not specifically mentioned in the service inclusions
  • 7. GST as applicable (Current rate: 5%)
