Overview
Torna is a highest fort in Pune district. During Swarajya formation, Torna was the first fort conqured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Due to huge size of the fort, Shivaji Maharaj named this fort as ‘Prachandagad’. It will take around one and half hour to reach the top. On the top there are temples of Lord Shiva and Goddess Mengjai. For protection there are two Machi’s constructed, named as Zunzar Machi and Budhla Machi. West facing Budhla Machi is a long ridge protected by fortification wall and few bastions. Konkan Darwaja is a entrance of Budhla Machi.
One can witness The Rajgad Fort, Sinhagad Fort, Purandhar Fort, Lingana Gunjawane dam, from the top.
Age Group: Open for all above 10 yrs (children between 10 to 15 yrs should be accompanied by at least 1 parent/guardian)
