Trek To Harishchandragad

Harishchandragad is a biggest fort in Ahmednagar district. There are around 18 routes to approach the top of the fort. Also fort is full of biodiversity. This fort has played a major role in guarding and controlling the surrounding region, specially Malshej ghat which was very important trade route in ancient period. The varios Puranas like Matsyapurana, Agnipurana and Skandapurana includes many references about Harishchandragad fort.

Kedareshwar cave, Harishchandreshwar Temple, Ganesh caves, Taramati Peak and mighty Kokankada are major attractions of this fort. Best season to visit this fort is September to January. One can witness the Malshej ghat region, Nafta pinnacle, Rohidas Peak, Kalbhairav Top from the Kokankada.

Night stay will be in tents @Kokankada

Age Group: Open for all above 10 yrs (children between 10 to 15 yrs should be accompanied by at least 1 parent/guardian)

Things To Carry: Sack, 3 lit. water, Extra pair of clothes, Sleeping bag/Blanket (Compulsary), Sun Cap, Head/Hand tourch, Sweater/Jacket, Dry Snacks
