Rajmachi Fort is one of the most famous historical forts in Maharashtra, located between Lonavala and Karjat in the rugged Sahyadri mountains. The fort complex consists of two hilltops, Shrivardhan Fort and Manaranjan Fort, both built to guard the ancient trade routes that connected the Konkan coast to the Deccan Plateau. Standing at a height of around 2710 feet, Rajmachi offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and the backwaters of Shirota Dam.
