Reach Tundabhoj, your campsite for the night, and marvel at the surrounding beauty before settling in for a peaceful night under the stars.
The path on Day 4 throws some challenges your way. The initial section involves navigating rocks and dense vegetation, a test of your agility and balance. After a few tiring kilometers, the trail descends to the riverbank, offering a welcome change in scenery. The next section up the valley is a bit more demanding. The trail frequently skirts rock faces, which can be difficult for porters with heavy loads. Take your time and conquer this section with perseverance. Your reward awaits at the end - camp tonight at Thakur Kuan, situated above a dramatic cliff section of the valley, with breathtaking views to lull you to sleep.
Today's trail presents a unique experience. You'll cross a side river via a natural rock bridge, a chance to test your surefootedness and marvel at nature's wonders. Just beyond this crossing lies the Pandu bridge, another landmark on your trek. After a day of navigating diverse terrain, set up camp for the night on a grassy plain near Odi Thach. Gaze at the star-studded sky and savor the sense of accomplishment as you rest under the vast Himalayan canvas.
Most of today's trek is classified as an easy walk, allowing you to relish the surrounding beauty. However, the last 300 meters will test your resolve with a steeper climb. Persevere, and you'll be rewarded with stunning views as you approach Mantalai Lake. This beautiful alpine lake, surrounded by majestic mountains, is your destination for the night. Pitch your camp near the lake and soak in the serenity of this enchanting location.
The terrain becomes more challenging on Day 7. The trail enters the realm of boulders and scree on the Pin Parvati Glacier. As you ascend, the landscape transforms into a dramatic display of snow and rock. But the effort is worth it - be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the Parvati Valley and the surrounding peaks that pierce the sky. Tonight's camp will be set up on a sandy ground at the base of the Pin Parvati Pass. Remember, the campsite might be under snow until mid-July, so be prepared for colder temperatures.
This is the most challenging day of the trek. The ascent to the Pin Parvati Pass is steep and involves snowfields. Ensure you use ropes for safety, especially early in the season when crevasses might be hidden under the snow. Prepare for a physically demanding climb as you conquer this high mountain pass. The sense of accomplishment at the summit will be unmatched as you're rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of snow-capped mountain ranges stretching as far as the eye can see.
The descent from the pass is initially gradual over snowfields, transitioning to scree later. Be prepared for some steeper sections that require careful navigation. After the exhilaration of reaching the summit, tonight's camp will be set up on a grassy plain within the Pin Valley, offering a welcome respite amidst the dramatic scenery.
Day 9 presents a unique challenge. The initial few kilometers lack a defined trail, requiring you to walk on loose scree. You might also encounter some side streams that need to be crossed. This section demands good balance and surefootedness. Despite the challenging terrain, the landscape continues to impress with its stark beauty. Camp tonight will be set up on a grassy plain in Tiai, a chance to relax and reflect on the incredible journey so far.
A sense of accomplishment fills the air on Day 10 as the trek transitions towards a more defined path. The trail becomes easier to navigate, allowing you to enjoy the surrounding scenery. As you descend, you'll spot the village of Mud nestled beneath a huge cliff face. Take a moment to explore this unique village and learn about the local culture before continuing your journey towards Kaza. Tonight, you'll enjoy the comfort of a guest house or hotel in Kaza, a well-deserved rest after an unforgettable trek.
