New year special camping at GGIM’s campsite Mulshi

2 Days

Camping at GGIM's new campsite at Valane, Mulshi (Tamhini)

Guardian Giripremi Institute of Mountaineering has developed a beautiful campsite near Valane, Mulshi to promote on conduct the Mountaineering and Nature related activities. During this activity one can experience one of the beautiful sunset at the back waters of Mulshi dam; Nature walk in the buffer zone of Tamhini reserve forest; Planetary telescope observations activity; Trek to the flag point to see the panaromic view of Tamhini; Fun games/Team games, etc.

The planetary telescope observations activity allows us to explore planets and other celestial objects through direct visual observation. Using a telescope, participants learn how to align the instrument, focus lenses, and adjust settings to track moving objects in the night sky. During the activity, one can observe features such as Jupiter’s moons, Saturn’s rings, or the phases of Venus, helping them understand planetary motion and structure. The activity encourages curiosity as learners compare what they see with images from space missions. Overall, this hands-on experience deepens understanding of the solar system and inspires interest in astronomy.

To celebrate the first day of new year we will do a easy to moderate grade trek of one and half hour to reach the flag point to see the panaromic view of Tamhini, bird eye view of Mulshi dam and the flaura and fauna in the buffer zone of Tamhini reserve forest.
