The Cloud Gathering Special Harishchandragad Fort Trek is the perfect weekend getaway for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and photography enthusiasts. Located in the Sahyadri mountain range, Harishchandragad is one of the most popular trekking destinations in Maharashtra. During the pre-monsoon and early monsoon season (May to early June), the fort comes alive with magical cloud formations, firefly displays, and lush green landscapes.
The highlight of the trek is Kokankada, a massive cliff known for its unique shape and dramatic cloud bursts, where mist seems to rise like waves. As night falls, the trail is illuminated by thousands of glowing fireflies, creating a fairytale-like atmosphere. You’ll also explore ancient rock-cut temples, the Harishchandreshwar Temple, and the mystical Kedareshwar Cave, home to a Shiva Linga surrounded by water.
