The Madhe-Upande Ghat trek is a beautiful and moderately challenging hiking route nestled in the Sahyadri range of Maharashtra. This trail carries both natural beauty and historical significance, making it a favorite among avid trekkers and history enthusiasts. The trek begins at Madhe Ghat, located around 65 km from Pune near the village of Kelad, and leads through dense forests, ancient pathways, and rolling hills before descending into Upande Ghat, near the village of Upande.

Devkund Waterfall, tucked away near Bhira village in Raigad district, is one of Maharashtra’s most beautiful and less-explored spots. Known as the source of the Kundalika River, this waterfall drops straight into a deep, natural pool surrounded by thick forest and rocky cliffs. The trek to Devkund is about 6–7 km one way and starts from the base village, taking you through dense jungle paths, small streams, and the calm backwaters of Bhira Dam. Most of the route is easy and flat, but the last stretch involves a short, steep climb that can get slippery, especially in the rains.

Raireshwar Trek is one of the most popular one-day treks near Pune, especially known for its historic significance and scenic beauty. The trek takes you to the Raireshwar Plateau, which is famous for the ancient Raireshwar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This place holds a special place in history, as it is believed that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, at the young age of 16, took the oath of Swarajya with his Mavalas at Raireshwar temple in 1645.

Torna, also known as Prachandagad is a popular route in Maharashtra, leading to Torna Fort, captured by Shivaji Maharaj at the age of 16. This was the first fort captured by Chhatrapati. Shivaji Maharaj. The trek starts from Velhe village, around 60 km south of Pune. The Fort is 1403 Meters tall. This fort is believed to have been constructed by the Shiva Panth in the 13th century.
