Nisargnaad’s Vairatgad Fort Trek

1 Day
No Fixed Departure Available!

Built during the 11th century by King Bhoj of the Shilahar dynasty, it later played a strategic role during the reign of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and was eventually captured by the British in 1818. Perched at an elevation of approximately 3,340 feet (1,018 meters) above sea level, the fort offers scenic views of the surrounding Western Ghats, including Wai, Satara, and even Mahabaleshwar on a clear day. Trekkers are greeted by remnants of historical significance, including a small Hanuman temple, rock-cut water cisterns, and the “Chor Darwaja”. Vairatgad offers a short yet enriching trekking experience, blending natural beauty with cultural heritage.
